Monroe “Doc” J. Taranto – Senior Associate

Over 40 years of government and industry, hands-on experience in implementation, management, sales, engineering and consulting support for government and commercial telecommunications and IT systems. Senior Associate with Michelli Associates focusing on DOD sustaining base telecommunications and IT systems similar GSA management contracts and programs.

Prior experience includes founder of Amstar Communications, built from start-up to 180 employees and $22 million in sales specializing in engineering, implementation of telecommunications and IT systems for DOD and civil agencies. Managed seven regions of GSA telecommunications services contracts. Program Manager for Contel focusing on DOD infrastructure systems and engineering support services. Program Manager with The Analytic Sciences Corporation, as senior consultant to certain intelligence agencies providing technical support for intelligence systems. Army Signal Officer for more than 26 years with varied domestic and international experience in SE Asia, Europe (NATO), Pacific Command, the Army’s Commercial Communications Office (ARCCO) and as Commander of the Army Information Systems Engineering Command – CONUS.

Mr. Taranto is a graduate of Iowa State University (BS Geophysics), the University of Colorado (MS -Telecommunications), the AT&T Commercial Systems Engineering Program and the Command & General Staff College. He is former president of AFCEA chapters in Honolulu, Brussels and Fort Ritchie, MD and holds a Top Secret clearance.
